- We collect personal information about you, including your name, address, and your involvement – as an offender or victim – in a specific criminal offence. This is to enable us to deliver restorative justice.
- None of this information must be provided by you; restorative justice is a voluntary process, and you are under no obligation to take part.
- Only the final restorative justice conference report will be shared. Copies will be sent to the victim, the offender, the Court, the offender’s lawyer, and the Prosecution (Police or Crown). A copy may be sent to Probation with the permission of the offender.
- We keep your information safe by only allowing authorised people to access it.
- After three years, all digital information is securely wiped, and all written information securely destroyed.
- You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you would like a copy of your information, or wish to have it corrected, please contact us at PO Box 4285, Whanganui 4541, or email info@wrjt.co.nz
